The Local and Global Missions of ThornCreek
ThornCreek believes in being involved in the local community! We are very intentional about this! Take a look at we are doing today as well as past programs. below…
Childhood hunger is not simply a moral issue. Research indicates that even mild malnutrition experienced by young children during critical periods of growth impacts their behavior, school performance, and overall cognitive development.
ThornCreek Church has founded Food For Hope to unify the community in the fight against childhood hunger and give these children a chance to succeed. Each child that enrolls with the program will receive a bag full of nutritious and healthy food to take home EVERY weekend. Find out more at foodforhope.net.
Take a look at the non profits in our community doing the work of Christ. We have chosen to lift them up, support and encourage them. By walking along side of them, in serving the specific people groups they work with.
A lot of times it’s hard to see what a section might look like on your website. This paragraph is to help give you a feeling for it. Replace this text with your own.
ThornCreek Church has sent three teams to Joplin, MO. In May 2011, Joplin was hit by a series of F-5 tornadoes. The devastation was great. ThornCreek sent teams to love on this community. We assisted in relief efforts, rebuilding, prayed with people, and we fed over 700 people.
In September, 2017 ThornCreek Church responded to the hurricane disaster in Houston by partnering with American Furniture Warehouse to send two 53 foot trailers loaded with donations of furniture, appliances, and water to Houston, TX.
We also sent a team of 21 ThornCreekers to deliver the donations and to love on the people of Houston by cleaning out houses, delivering food, and praying for people.
We have outreach events every month, that partner with a different non-profit. Check out our events page to see what’s going on this month.
We have partnered with a church in Negritos, Peru, a coastal community in the westernmost part of South America. We have teamed up with Compassion International to change the lives within this community by sponsoring children to rescue them from poverty in Jesus' name. We will also be taking ThornCreekers to visit Peru regularly for infrastructure projects.
Prior to the pandemic, we sent a team to Negritos every two years. Check out a few videos from those trips.
Sponsor a child - For $38 a month you can change the life of a child. We have already sponsored over 100 children!
In addition, ThornCreek Church supports missions through the Church of the Nazarene. The Church of the Nazarene is in over 100 countries!
We also planted a new church in South Thornton! The name of this church is Hope Hacienda Church. This is a church designed for people who live in South Thornton! Please check out their website at hopehacienda.net.
